Congratulations to Olivia, the Forest Piano Academy Star Student for the month of August.
Olivia has always been a very determined and motivated student. She has a wonderfully logical mind and shows a remarkable level of independence for a student who is only in Year 5. Olivia loves a challenge, and does not let the discomfort of learning get in her way—this is why she has progressed so beautifully in such a short time. Completely on her own, she recently wrote 3 pages of “to be improved” notes about one of her exam pieces. Wow, Olivia!
Olivia’s words of wisdom:
How old are you? 11
What other activities do you like? Dance, tennis, swimming
What’s your favourite subject at school? History or maths
What is your favourite thing about playing piano? Learning new things!
Do you go to concerts? Yes, I have been to different ballets, and with Sydney Symhony playing Harry Potter music. It was amazing, I didn’t realise how much music was in it until I heard it played live! I got lost in the movie and the music.
Tell a younger student what exams are like? They are fun, but you can also get nervous. You have to go in there and try to do your best.
What advice do you have for a little student who might like to do exams? Keep trying hard, exams are a great thing to experience. It is usually fun and you don’t usually get grumpy examiners….so that is very nice. Keep working hard so you can do an exam.
How old will you be in 20 years? 31
That’s old isn’t it? Yes, it is VERY old.
What will you be doing when you are 31? I might study medicine.
Where will you live? I hope in Manly. Or with my parents, or with, I don’t know, a boyfriend, or a friend.
